Development of sustainable architecture projects.

MUSEUM OF ENVIRONMENT AND CLIMATE IN LLEIDA

The building integrates the three major systems that produce order in architecture: tectonics of the masses and volumes; the order of the uses and order of facility.

A central area of movement – serving as the interior main street and containing all the elements of the centre’s services- provides access to multiple independentboxes, where the singular and important uses are situated-the entrance hall, auditorium and multi-purpose room and two large exhibition halls.

The building is very efficient in the uses of material resources, energy and water, and is also comfortable and healthy.

The building’s energy demand, simulated with dynamic simulation software,  is about 30 kWh/m2 year, with a reduction of 75% over a conventional building, with maximum power between 90 and 100 kW, in for heating and for cooling.

The set of actions aimed at sustainability allow a 90% reduction in emissions comparing to a building with glass curtain cladding and conventional production systems.
